Privacy Policy.
Baytee is built by a resident of Masaar, for residents of Masaar. We treat your data the way we would want our own treated. This document explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
01Introduction
Baytee Home Services LLC ("Baytee", "we", "our") is a company incorporated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We operate the Baytee community and home-services platform at app.baytee.io and at the marketing website at baytee.io.
This Privacy Policy applies to the personal data we collect from residents, household members, prospective residents, and visitors to our website. By using Baytee you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not register.
02What information we collect
Account & residency
When you register we ask for your first and last name, email address, WhatsApp number, unit code, unit type, and cluster. If you are a tenant we also ask for the end date of your tenancy contract. This information lets us verify that you are a Masaar resident and lets you sign into the app.
Community activity
When you use community features we store the content you post (marketplace listings, lost & found posts, club events you create, polls you cast, comments you write, directory entries) along with timestamps and the user ID that created each item.
Service bookings
When you book a paid service we store the service type, scheduled date and time, your unit address, any notes you add, and the service-provider assignment.
Payment metadata
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store only the Stripe customer identifier, payment-method type (card, Apple Pay, etc.), and the booking the charge is linked to.
Technical data
When you load the app we collect minimal technical data: IP address, device type, browser, and the pages you visit. We use this only to keep the service stable and to investigate abuse — never to build advertising profiles.
03How we use your data
- To verify Masaar residency at registration
- To operate community features (clubs, events, polls, marketplace, lost & found, directory, resources, local offers)
- To deliver and coordinate paid services
- To send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, service updates, important account messages)
- To send optional community notifications (you can opt out per category in Profile → Notifications)
- To investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
- To comply with applicable UAE law
04Who we share with
Service providers we hire
When you book a service, we share the minimum information needed to deliver it — your first name, unit, the booking time, and any notes you wrote — with the assigned provider. We do not share your phone number, email, or last name unless explicitly required for service delivery.
Stripe
Payment information is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for the card data; we receive only the metadata needed to reconcile payments. Stripe's privacy notice: stripe.com/privacy.
Supabase
Our database and authentication infrastructure is hosted by Supabase in the European Union. Supabase processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement and never accesses your content except for technical operations.
Communication tools
Transactional emails are sent via Hostinger SMTP. Push notifications go through Firebase Cloud Messaging. These providers see only the data needed to deliver the message.
Legal authorities
We disclose data when required by a valid UAE legal request, court order, or to protect the safety of residents.
Who we never share with
Never: Arada, your landlord, advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. We do not sell or rent your data.
05Cookies
Baytee uses only the technical cookies required for authentication and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tracking. Because we do not place advertising cookies, no cookie-consent banner is shown.
06Data security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication uses Supabase Auth with phone-OTP or magic-link verification — we never store passwords. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2-aligned European cloud servers. Access to production systems is limited to authorised Baytee personnel and logged.
No system is perfect. If you suspect a security issue, please write to security@baytee.io and we will investigate promptly.
07Data retention
- Active account: data kept while your account is active.
- Closed account: personal data deleted within 30 days of verified deletion request; community contributions become anonymous.
- Financial records (bookings, payments, invoices): retained five years to comply with UAE tax and commercial-record obligations, then deleted.
- Technical logs: retained 90 days then deleted.
08International transfers
Your data is stored on European servers. Some service providers (Stripe, Firebase) may process data outside the European Union or UAE. Where this happens, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data continues to receive the same level of protection.
09Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to update inaccurate information.
- Delete — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations above).
- Object — refuse processing for non-essential purposes (e.g. opt out of community notifications).
- Lodge a complaint — contact the UAE Data Office if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@baytee.io. We will respond within 30 days.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you via the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Baytee after a change means you accept the updated policy.
